I have been a parent at Keller for 6 years.
Number of kids and their grades this year?
I have three children. Griffin is in 5th grade with Mr. Tucker, Stella is 3rd grade with Miss Kinn and Eleanor is at Addams ECC in their blended program.
What is your current job/ role outside of PTA?
I am a former high school English teacher and at the moment a stay at home mom.
What are some of your hobbies, interests, or passions?
I love music, movies and books. I spend my free time reading and crafting. I enjoy baking and trying new recipes. As a family we like to spend time outside in nature, read, craft and play board games.
What do you love about Keller PTA?
I love how friendly Keller PTA is and how committed the PTA is to supporting students and staff.
What do you find challenging about PTA?
The most challenging thing about the PTA is getting new volunteers.
As an elementary school student yourself, what did you want to be when you grew up?
As an elementary school student I wanted to be an astronaut.

I am looking forward to a great school year and lots of opportunities to connect!

One 3rd grader and two adult children.
What is your current job/ role outside of PTA?
Currently full time volunteer. Formally nonprofit fundraising, marketing, public relations, event planning.
What are some of your hobbies, interests, or passions?
Exercise, wellness, camping, being outside, social justice, serving/volunteering, doing all the fun kid stuff, Jesus.
What do you love about Keller PTA?
How much we get to do for the kids and school. I had no idea how much was done. I am grateful for the opportunities to get to know so many of the kids and caregivers through the various PTA programming.
What do you find challenging about PTA?
Getting more people to volunteer and/or take on committee and board positions.
As an elementary school student yourself, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Teacher.

I'm here to help and I love being a part of the Keller community.
How many years have you been a Keller parent/ guardian?
This is my 12th year as a Keller parent.
Number of kids and their grades/ teachers this year?
My oldest is a Junior at ROHS, my middle is an 8th-grader at ROMS, and my youngest is a 5th-grader at Keller.
What is your current job/ role outside of PTA?
I am currently the 6th-grade secretary at Royal Oak Middle School. Prior to this, I worked in banking for 14 years, and then in the medical/ health field as a Licensed Massage Therapist for 8 years. I am still a licensed therapist.
What are some of your hobbies, interests, or passions?
I love food, music, and books. I love spending time resting at home watching tv & movies, mostly historical documentaries, true crime, and cooking shows. I love spending time with family and friends. I am super passionate about helping others, history, politics, civil & human rights, and social justice issues.
What do you love about Keller PTA?
I love the support the PTA offers to Keller students and families. It helps keep us all connected and offers opportunities to connect with others on more than a superficial level. Itβs a great way to meet people and get to know Keller staff members, too!
What do you find challenging about PTA?
Recruiting volunteers in any capacity. The PTA is a nonprofit organization and we cannot do any work without the tireless work of volunteers. When only a few people are involved, it is extremely difficult to complete all of our goals and execute events. The more hands we have, the lighter the load for everyone involved. That helps prevent volunteer burnout, as well.
As an elementary school student yourself, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a makeup artist for scary movies, a marine biologist (I love sharks!) and a teacher.
Anything else you want to add about yourself, your family, Keller, or PTA?
I think that getting involved is now more important than ever and can have such a positive impact on others. The Keller PTA is a great first step in doing something wonderful for your community that can create some positivity and fun, which we all need right now . It is such a rich and fulfilling organization to be a part of.
How many years have you been a Keller parent/ guardian?
This is our second year as a Keller family.

1 child starting 1st grade in 2025.
What is your current job/ role outside of PTA?
I work in affordable housing finance and have a background in social work.
What are some of your hobbies, interests, or passions?
I love to be with my family and especially when we are outdoors. I enjoy running, hiking, swimming, and gardening. I love to read but struggle to find the time. I also love to cook and bake, especially in the winter.
What do you love about Keller PTA?
I love itβs commitment to equity and inclusivity, and its drive to create a positive, safe and healthy environment for all student. That is more important than ever.
What do you find challenging about PTA?
Keeping all the moving parts straight. Itβs a lot to organize and we all have a great deal of pulls on our time outside of the PTA. Itβs energizing to see events come to life and be enjoyed by our Keller Community.
As an elementary school student yourself, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A psychiatrist.

I firmly believe the role of a PTA is to, as the National mission states, ββ¦make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.β

I've been a Keller parent for two years.

I have two children. Mateo is in 2nd grade. Miles is in Pre-k at Addams.
What is your current job/ role outside of PTA?
I'm a lawyer. I own a boutique law firm in Royal Oak that specializes in criminal and family law. I'm also actively involved in the community.
What are some of your hobbies, interests, or passions?
I love to read, write, ice skate, volunteer work, and stand-up comedy.
What do you love about Keller PTA?
I love that it serves as an open line of communication between parents and teachers to learn what we can do to support educators and students.

As an elementary school student yourself, what did you want to be when you grew up?
United States Postal worker.
Anything else you want to add about yourself, your family, Keller, or PTA?

How many years have you been a Keller parent/ guardian?
I've been a Keller parent for seven years.
Number of kids and their grades/ teachers this year?
My son is in the 5th grade and my daughter is in 7th grade this year.
What is your current job/ role outside of PTA?
I'm the Director of Client Success for an education technology company. I've been with my company for almost 20 years. We specialize in providing etranscripts, custom college applications, and career & college readiness to k-12 schools and colleges.
What are some of your hobbies, interests, or passions?
Home renovation and travel. This year we had an opportunity to visit national parks like Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and Harper's Ferry using the 4th grade national park pass (Google it!).
What do you love about Keller PTA?
I love being a part of the PTA because it helps families get to know each other and fosters a sense of community and connection within the school. Building these relationships creates a supportive environment for our kids and enhances the overall school experience for everyone.
What do you find challenging about PTA?
One of the challenges we face is ensuring that the PTA stays strong by bringing on board new members. I'm sure there are Keller parents who would love to be more involved, but they aren't sure how. This is my final year at Keller, and I hope to find parents of younger students who are willing to step into some of the roles that make everything happen!
As an elementary school student yourself, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was in elementary school I wanted to work in musical theater.
